51IC0HvE2rL. SL160 AA115 The Stay At Home MartyrDo you remember life before babies?  Do your wear your hair in a ponytail, no makeup and sweats every day?  Do you wear mismatched undergarments?  Has your life been reduced to one single purpose-your children?  You may have become just another casualty of an affliction called Stay at Home Martyrdom. Time to get yourself back on track, girlfriends!  Time to get The Stay-at-Home Martyr: A Survival Guide for Having a Life Outside Your Kids by Joanne Kimes and Jennifer Worley. This hilarious look at contemporary motherhood is written by two women who’ve been there and includes chapters entitled “Glamour Do’s and Glamour-Don’t You ever look in the Freakin Mirror” and “From Dog Tired to Doggy Style”. In between the humor and parenthood clichés this book gives great advice- make sure you make time for yourself and your own interests.  If you can successfully accomplish this you will feel more in control and be more satisfied in your parenting and martial relationships and beyond.  Good advice indeed.

Sadly, after reading this I felt as though there is just a small bit of “martyrdom” lurking within myself.  Hmmmm…
