Go, Dog. Go!

Go, Dog. Go!Random House just released a special foil-covered 50th Anniversary Party Edition of Go, Dog. Go! A favorite of children since it was written 50 years ago, it never gets old. The simple story, fun plot and great pictures are both educational and entertaining.

“Dog. Big dog. Little dog.” is how it begins and author, P.D. Eastman, slowly builds his dialog until your child will be learning new words without realizing it.  As the book progresses, the wording becomes more complex forming a plot that keeps even your littlest ones engaged. The deeper meaning of the story, that dogs (and people) come in all shapes and colors is not lost on adults and my kids love that all of the dogs end up at a big party at the end.

The illustrations of the various dogs are fun and full of expression. You can spend endless amounts of time on each page – trust me, we have. My sons love to comment on the detailed pictures of dogs doing all kinds of crazy things.  Their favorite part is the long line of dogs in sports cars some going fast and some going slow.

Go, Dog. Go! is an entertaining classic.  If you do not have this book for your children, run out and get it!  Retail value: $8.99.   Buy it Now!
